Skvosh is a home for racket sports players and the people who organise their events. It keeps your matches, results and rating in one place, runs tournaments and leagues from sign-up to final, and lets you follow a match point by point while it is being played. It works for squash, tennis, badminton and padel.
Your dashboard
After you sign in, the dashboard shows what needs you now and what comes next: live matches you are in, your next fixtures with your chance of winning, open sign-ups for events near you, recent results, your competitions and your latest achievements. Your rating, rank, record and form sit at the top.
Matches and results
- Add a result from the + button in the bottom bar: pick the players, the sport and the score. A friendly match between two players is recorded straight away.
- Who sees a friendly is your choice when you add it: everyone, your club (members of a club either player belongs to), friends of either player, or only the players. It starts on your club if you belong to one. The players and whoever added it can change it on the match page. Competition matches are always public, and every match still counts in records.
- Live Score lets you score a match point by point on your phone. Anyone can follow it live, and the result is saved when the match ends. Tap the faint ball on a player's side to give them the serve (in squash, tap the L or R marker to switch box); Undo takes it back. Playing outdoors? The sun button at the top makes the scorer bright and high-contrast.
- Every match has its own page with the score, the timeline of points, the court and, before it starts, each player's chance of winning from their ratings.
- In a competition, either player can report the result once the match is played: the match score, and if you like the points of each game. The opponent or an organizer confirms it, or sends it back to be corrected; a report nobody answers confirms itself after a few days. The quickest way in is the + button: your matches still without a result are listed first, one tap from the form.
- A referee assigned to a match scores it and enters its result. In a tournament the organizers choose referees from the event's referee list; in a league either player of a match can ask anyone playing in the league to referee it.
Competitions
- Tournaments run from sign-ups through the draw, pools and knockout to the final. On the event day the schedule shows who plays where and when, and TV screens can show live scores and tables at the venue.
- Leagues run in seasons with a table, and box leagues in cycles: you play everyone in your box, and at the end of each cycle the top players move up a box and the bottom ones move down.
- A league is played one of two ways, chosen when it is set up and again for each new season. In weekly rounds, every round has its own deadline. Any time in the cycle means you play your opponents whenever you agree, until the cycle ends; you get a list of your opponents and the end date when the cycle starts.
- Organizers set each cycle's start and end, and can move them while it is being played (a longer cycle over the holidays, for example) on the competition's Format tab. Everyone's deadline follows.
- The player of the round is whoever gained the most rating in a round or cycle, with wins and games breaking a tie. It shows on the league's overview and on the season page.
- A league's Seasons tab shows its all-time records: the season records counted over every season, so a winning run carries on into the next season, and the most titles.
- The Stats tab ranks everyone who has played: win rate, wins, games or sets, points won, deciding games and comebacks. Tap a column to sort by it. Percentages only rank players who played at least 40% as many matches as the busiest player.
- A competition's Matches tab lists what is still to be played, live matches first, and Results holds the matches already played.
- Sign-ups open on the competition's page. You may be placed straight in, wait for the organizer to approve you, or join the waiting list if it is full.
- The Standings page shows each table, the places that move up or down, and how far each box has got.
- A finished season's page shows its champion, its records and its awards: most improved, ever-present, best win rate and best newcomer. They are worked out from the results, and show on the winners' profiles.

Ratings and ranking
Every rated match updates both players' ratings with the Glicko-2 system, the same family of ratings chess uses. A new rating is provisional until you have played enough matches; after that you appear in the ranking for your sport. Friendly matches do not change ratings. Your rating history and ranking are on your player profile.
Find a game
Looking for someone to play? Post a time, a place and a sport on Find a game, for everyone or only your friends. Your friends hear about it, and when someone joins, a friendly match between the two of you is set up.
Players, friends and clubs
Look up any player or club, see their matches, head-to-head records and achievements, and add friends. Friends hear about each other's open games. A player's Competitions page starts with their season history: where they finished each league season, their record and how their rating moved.
Notifications, calendar and your phone
- Notifications tell you about new fixtures, results, sign-ups, match times and friend requests. In notification settings you choose which ones also come by email or as push notifications on your phone.
- If you organize or edit an event, Results in your events pushes each result to your phone as it is confirmed, scored live, entered or given as a walkover. It only ever comes as a push, so it never fills your notifications, and you can turn it off there.
- A private calendar link in the same settings puts your matches into Apple, Outlook or Google Calendar, and keeps them up to date.
- Add Skvosh to your home screen to use it like an app: in Safari on iPhone, tap Share and then Add to Home Screen; in Chrome on Android, open the menu and choose Install app. Push notifications on iPhone need the home screen app.
Your account
- Sign in with your email and password, with Google, or with a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID or your phone's screen lock), which you can add in security settings.
- In profile settings you set your name, photo, club, sports and language. The theme (light or dark) is in the account menu.
- If you ended up with two accounts, don't make a third: ask an administrator to merge them. Afterwards you can sign in with either email address.
